Annual Membership Meeting

The Winnemucca Community Garden will be holding their annual Friends of the Garden meeting at the 4-H meeting room located at 1085 Fairgrounds Rd on Thursday February 26^th, 2009. Festivities to commence at 7:00 pm on that date. The meeting will be free and open to the public.

The annual meeting is a chance for the members of the community to be introduced or re-familiarized with the community gardens, as well as having a good time and connecting with other community members interested in growing and cultivating our community.

The theme of the annual meeting is getting the community to “Fall in Love” with the Garden. At the meeting there will be a delicious dinner provided, a silent auction, raffles, music and other jovial activities. There will also be an overview of all the work accomplished at the garden, the future project plan for the Garden as well as a review of the rules and policies.

The Garden is looking to gain more support and involvement from the surrounding the community by offering chances to adopt garden plots to care for as well as various volunteering opportunities. The meeting will provide citizens to sign up for volunteering opportunities or plot adoption. Your talents-whatever they may be- are always a welcome contribution to the Garden.

The growing season of the Community Garden will kick off April 15^th, 2009. There will be enough time between the February 26^th annual meeting and then to figure out what to plant or what to do for the Garden. The Garden is looking to be a gathering area for many of the local organizations to host events as well. Anyone who wishes to hold parties workshops picnics meetings or public forums is strongly encouraged to do so.
