Annual Meeting

The Winnemucca Community Garden's Friends of the Garden Season Kickoff Dinner will be taking place on Saturday February 27^th from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at the Winnemucca Convention Center's East Hall. This is the first chance to get your hands on a plot application as well as to learn about and support upcoming Community Garden programs for the 2010 growing season! There will be a delicious home-cooked meal, live bluegrass music, fabulous raffle prizes and a silent auction.

ANNUAL EVENT INVITES FRIENDS OF THE GARDEN TO ADOPT-A-PLOT

With a little resourcefulness, communities such as Winnemucca have found alternatives to the supermarket produce section. The high cost of fresh fruits and vegetables have given rise to community gardens which have become an attractive option in today's economy. By turning a vacant lot into a produce-rich garden, Winnemuccans have been able to get together to combat rising food costs.
